The best way to start attracting more customers out on the internet is to get familiar with the various platforms available at your finger tips. Make sure you set up your own Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn account so that your potential prospects won't have trouble finding out more about you, and what you have to ffer.
For the first week or so, just focus your time on doing research on these particular social sites. Whatever your niche is, find the profiles of your competitors and your potential prospects to see what type of content is being circulated, and began to brainstorm on the many ways you can capitalize on the social media wave. Don't be afraid to reach out to some of your competitors and ask them specific questions, get ideas, etc.

Studies have shown that videos are set to surpass Google in search volume in the year 2011. How COOL is that? :) So if you can focus you ENERGY on making videos and presenting your content in such a way that value exceeds monetary gain, you will win, and you will attract more customers and leads than you can handle.
The other goal with social media optimization is to target the right keywords that your potential audience may be searching for. Landing on the first page of Google or Youtube= A TON OF TRAFFIC YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR:) This is where research is key. Take the time to do your keyword research for terms that are definitely getting searched on a daily basis. A rough estimate of about 100-200 searches per day would be ideal.
One very good tactic you can use to gain massive exposure to your videos is use Youtube's search engine suggestion box. This is a very simple tactic that gives you an idea of what your audience is typing in the search box. Go try it out! Do a simple search for how to lose... and you will see a few of suggestions pop up in the box that you can tailor your content around.

I've discovered that LinkedIn is actually one of the most effective for business to business ventures because you are able to contact people individually while posting to larger groups as well. Facebook pages and Twitter feeds have done far less for me then LinkedIn
